難波田史男の世界 イメージの冒険（世田谷美術館） The Imaginary World of Fumio Nambata (Setagaya Art Museum)

32才の若さで亡くなった難波田史男は、そのおよそ15年間の画家としての活動の中で、2,000点以上にのぼる作品を残した。

そのうち、800点を収蔵する世田谷美術館が、250点の作品を展示し、難波田史男のイメージの世界を出現させた。

1つの作品の中に、難波田史男は、実に多くのイメージを表現している。

さらに、驚くべきことには、そうしたイメージの一つ一つは、全く異なっている。

同じような画風の、クレー、ミロ、あるいは、個性的なイメージを残したシャガールでさえ、これほど多くの異なるイメージは作り出さなかった。

彼らは、同じようなイメージを、いろいろな作品の中で、変奏曲のように展開させた。

難波田史男という画家は、おそらく、最も多くのイメージをこの世に生み出した画家の一人だろう。

モグラの道、という11枚の作品を横につなげた対策の中では、文字通り無数のイメージが溢れている。

離れて見ても壮観だし、近づいて一つ一つのイメージを追っていくのも楽しい。それは、まるで、洛中洛外図のような屏風絵のようだ。

この偉大な画家は、まだその正当な評価を受けてはいない。
