北大路魯山人（世田谷美術館） Rosanjin Kitaoji (Setagaya Art Museum)

北大路魯山人を支援した経営者の一人、塩田岩治氏のコレクションの展示。

書、陶器、絵画などの幅広い作品で、北大路魯山人という人物の全体像をよく伝える。

一番目を引いたのは、やはり陶器。

色鮮やかな野々村仁清の京焼、個性的な織部焼、地味な色合いの志野、備前など。

北大路魯山人は、伝統を守りながら、絵柄や形状に、独自性を加えている。

数は少ないながら、何点かの絵も展示されていた。

地べたに横たわる猫を描いた作品は、いかついイメージの北大路魯山人とはミスマッチで、おもわず笑みを浮かべてしまった。

星岡茶寮という料理屋も経営していた北大路魯山人。

書家、陶芸家、絵師、料理人・・・

そうしたいずれの肩書きも北大路魯山人には似合わない。

北大路魯山人という人間は、北大路魯山人としか表現しようがない存在なのだ。
